ESRI Research Professor James Williams says the study can inform policy changes.

“It's very important – and this is the strength of Growing Up in Ireland – that you look out sort of through all the different parts of their lives, all of the the different aspects of their lives and see how one aspect is related to another aspect and so forth” he said.

“It's those inter-relationships that are so important – so that policy makers can then step in and try to make sure they can relieve any pressure as it's developing” he added.
