Reminder for dog owners after sheep attack

Dog owners in rural areas are being warned of their responsibilities after 40 sheep were killed in an attack in county Kerry.

One farmer in Annascaul owned 36 of the dead sheep – while another four belonged to other owners.

The Irish Farmers Association says farmers must be allowed to protect their livelihood.

The IFA's John Lynskey says liability for the attack lies with the owner of the dog.
