PSNI officers look set to march in Boston Parade

Concerns that parade organisers had refused to allow members of the PSNI march in the largest parade in New York – has revived criticisms of the organisers- who also won't let gay people attend with their own banners.

Concerns that the PSNI had been uninvited from marching in the St. Patricks' Day parade appear to have been allayed and the 6 members of the Northern Ireland police force will indeed march with the Gardaí in New York.

This does not mean that the decision by parade organisers in Boston and New York in prohibiting members of the LGBT community bring banners of their own will go without comment.

The Boston parade has lost its main sponsor – beer producer Sam Adams as a  result of the discrimination and more criticism of the decision as archaic and out of touch is due to continue over the next two days with the Taoiseach as the highest representative of the Irish government doubtlessly put in a difficult position.
