It's understood the woman was 63 year old Julia Holmes from Co Down – who was at the centre of a worldwide police hunt for fraud.
The bodies were found in the upstairs bedroom of the house at Boolaglass in Askeaton this morning – it's likely they had been there for some time.

The scene has been sealed off and a post mortem will be carried out on the remains.
