Proposals to install CCTV systems in two main West Tipp towns have moved a step closer.
The issue to erect the cameras in Cashel and Tipperary Town was raised in the local municipal district meeting this week ahead of their summer recess.
Campaigners believe they will deter crime and anti social behaviour as well as providing an extra eye for Gardaí already hit by tight resources.
Sinn Fein Cllr Martin Browne is among those pushing for CCTV and is confident it will happen.
