Originally, Pistorius was convicted of manslaughter, however this was upgraded to murder by South Africa's Supreme Court.

Following the sentencing hearing this morning, the six-time Paralympic gold medallist, dressed in a dark suit, was taken immediately to prison.
Under South African law, he must serve three years, after which he could be eligible for parole.
