A man has been killed in a road collision in West Tipperary
The 23 year old was walking along the N24 at Ballykisteen when he was struck by a car last night
This incident happened around 8 o'clock on the main N24 between Limerick Junction and Monard
The pedestrian, a 23 year old man, was hit by a car at Ballykisteen…he was rushed to the University Hospital in Limerick where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the car wasn't injured.
The road remains closed this morning to allow a forensic collision examination to take place.
The N24 is shut from Barnstown Cross to Monard…with diversions in place
Gardaí in Tipperary Town say they expect the road to reopen around noon.
Anyone who may have seen the crash is being urged to contact Gardaí.
This latest collision brings to 14 the number of people who have died on Tipperary's roads in 2016.
