Party meetings held after final Dáil seats filled

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are both holding separate parliamentary party meetings in the Dáil this afternoon to discuss the matter.

On the way in to their parliamentary party meeting Fianna Fáil TDs were not ruling out doing business with Fine Gael – but many saying it would be difficult for the party to stomach.

Jim O'Callaghan saying he couldn't vote for Enda Kenny as Taoiseach.

While John McGuiness believes Fianna Fail would have to be the senior coalition partners – despite having 6 less seats.

Newly elected Tipperary TD Jackie Cahill said he can't picture a grand coalition, as did Eamon Scanlon.

While Sean Haughey said they have to look at every option.

It comes ahead of Fine Gael's own parliamentary party meeting this afternoon – with it still looking unlikely that a government will be formed when the 32nd Dáil sits for the first time on March 10th.
