PAC Chairman brands treatment of whistleblowers as disgusting.

The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee says the treatment of whistleblowers in Ireland is “disgusting”.

John McGuiness was responding to the Garda Commissioner – who yesterday said he found it disgusting that allegations of corruption in the penalty points system – were brought forward by just two members of the force.

Martin Callinan is considering legal action to stop whistleblower Sergeant Maurice McCabe attending another hearing next week.
