Over 20 areas across Tipperary are set to be able to avail of fibre broadband.

As part of this regional investment by Eircom, 21 Tipperary towns and villages are to get access to fibre broadband.

The upgrades will allow for speeds of up to 1 Gigabyte to homes and businesses in the county.

The areas set to benefit include Aherlow, Ballingarry, Coolbawn, Cloughjordan, Moyne, Puckane, Silvermines and Templetouhy.

The upgrade will cover 1,587 kilometres of fibre around the Premier County.
