Olympic swimmers removed from plane

Two American Olympic swimmers have been removed from a flight to the US by authorities, investigating claims they were robbed at gunpoint in Rio.

The US Olympic Committee confirmed that Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger were taken off the flight.

The swimmers say they were robbed on Sunday as they travelled to the Athletes' Village.

They said they were in a taxi when armed men carrying police badges pulled them over and took out guns.

But doubts were raised after Olympic Village x-ray machine records suggested the men were carrying some belongings they claimed had been stolen from them.
