New procedures at Irish airports following near miss

Dublin Airport reported a “loss of separation” between a plane preparing for take-off and one getting ready to land.

An Air Accident Investigation found that the aircraft on the ground had been cleared for take-off but flight control tried to recall it, however the transmission didn't get through.

The departing aircraft took off before the incoming one landed safely.

But the planes had come within just over 800 metres of each other.
