The 33 year old's torso was found in a suitcase in the Grand Canal in Co Kildare, over a week ago.
Over the weekend, Gardai searched parts of the canal near Leixlip and Maynooth, along with a number of farmhouses near Ardclough.
Nicola Tallant, Investigations Editor with the Sunday World, says detectives are following one particular line of inquiry.
