Health Minister Leo Varadkar has established the group to advise the Government on the development of a National Maternity Strategy.
General manager of South Tipp General, Grace Rothwell has been appointed to the committee which will hold its first meeting next month with a report set to be concluded before the end of this year.
Welcoming the appointment, Tipperary Fine Gael TD Tom Hayes said Ms Rothwell is 'efficient, hard working and passionate about improving health care in Tipperary'.
