Man in court over Clonmel Petrol Station Robbery.

Adam O'Leary of 1 Demesne, Wellington Street, Clonmel was remanded in custody in connection with the incident at the Applegreen garage yesterday morning. 

Clonmel District Court heard further charges relating to a firearm are pending.

Giving evidence Garda Mark Cullinane of Clonmel Garda Station told the court of arresting and charging the 21 year old with two counts – one of the robbery of the Applegreen Service Station on the Dungarvan Road in the early hours of yesterday morning and a second count of a benchwarrent breach.

Mr O'Leary made no reply to either charge.

Objecting to bail Sergeant Ian Barrett said that further charges in the case were pending relating to a firearm which is currently being tested by garda ballistics.

The court also heard that there are 6 outstanding benchwarrents for the 21 year old in relation to other matters.

Judge Terrance Finn refused bail and remanded Adam O’Leary in custody to appear before the courts here again on May 27th – Prior to that he will appear in court in Waterford on Thursday in relation to the second charge over the benchwarrent.
