Man dies in West Tipperary farming accident.

It's understood the man was working underneath a 4×4 in the yard of the family farm at Ballybrenogue when the incident happened.

The alarm was raised shortly after 4pm when the man was found by a neighbour.

The man in his early 70s was pronounced dead at the scene and his remains have been taken to Waterford University Hospital where a post mortem will be carried.

Gardai have launched an investigation and the Health and Safety Authority has also been notified.

Its the second fatal farm accident in Tipperary this year – in June a man in his 20's died after an incident at a stud farm near Fethard when the teleporter he was on overturned.
