The single car collision happened on the New Inn to Clonmel Road at Newtown, at around a quarter to three this afternoon.
A 35 year old man, who was a passenger in the car, escaped with non life threatening injuries.
The road is currently closed while Gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene.
