Man released after questioning over Glengoole hit&run

A man in his 40s has been released without charge after being questioned overnight in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Glengoole.

He was was taken into custody yesterday afternoon following the death of pensioner Michael Stapleton on Sunday night.

The man was held overnight at Thurles Garda station.

He’s since been released with a file being prepared for the Director of Public of Prosecutions.
