Major drug seizures in South Tipperary and North Cork

10,000 ecstasy tablets were discovered during a search of a house in the Cahir area.

A 36 year old man was arrested following the operation involving Revenue's Customs Service and the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau. He is being detained at Clonmel Garda station.

In a second operation yesterday a similar amount of ecstasy tablets were found at a house in Mitchelstown in north Cork.

A 19 year old female was taken into custody there and is being held at Fermoy Garda station.

Investigations into both seizures are ongoing.

It's been a busy week for Customs and the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau.

On Wednesday a house in the Ballyshannon area of Co. Donegal was searched. 3,000 Diazepam tablets with a value of about €6,000 were seized. A 20 year old man was arrested by Gardaí and detained at Ballyshannon Garda Station.
