Three elderly people have died in their homes after a wildfire spread into the capital of Portugal's Madeira Islands.
More than 300 people have been getting medical treatment for smoke inhalation and minor burns.
The flames are being fuelled by hot weather and strong winds on the islands off north-western Africa.
