Limerick Institute of Technology respond to PAC claims.

It comes after the Public Accounts Committee was told that a small number of staff there earn up to 72,000 euro a year, despite having no work to do.

The staff were surplus to requirements when Limerick IT merged with Tipperary Institute four years ago – but were not laid off.

In a statement this evening the college says all staff from Tipperary have now been reassigned, a year ahead of schedule.
