Funding has been secured to switch the public lighting back on in Carden's Court in Templemore.
The estate like several others around the town have been without such facilities in a number of years after the developments went into Nama.
However local Councillor Eddie Moran says a deal has been made through the County Council which he hopes will see the lights on before Christmas.
He's also trying to make progress on two other estates in the area.
