Justice Minister hails work of Tipp group in crime prevention

The Justice Minister has praised the efforts of a Tipperary group aimed at tackling rural crime.

A nine strong deputation from the Save Our Local Community Group met with Minister Frances Fitzgerald at Leinster House last evening.

Among the issues discussed were the introduction of electronic monitoring and bail laws.

Minister Fitzgerald acknowledged that the progress being made on these was down in a big way to the efforts of the group.

Chairman of Save Our Community Robert O'Shea says while progress is being made there is still a sense of frustration at how long it's taking.
