Nearly half say that there was more than one crime committed against them.
ISME – the group representing small and medium enterprises – says burglary and attempted burglary make up over half the crimes committed.
CEO Mark Fielding says businesses are being let down by the legal system, describing it as a revolving door with perpetrators being let off on probation or not spending very long in prison. He says because of this many business owners do not even bother reporting such crimes.
