The 18 year old driver – Stephen Carney from Kennedy Park in the town – died when the black BMW they were travelling in, hit a wall on the Birr Road shortly after 2 am yesterday morning.
The car had been taken from a sales yard in Brosna less than an hour earlier and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
