Residents in Thurles will have a further opportunity to sign up for the new text alert scheme in the town this evening.
400 households have already come on board with the project set to be up and running in the coming weeks.

The cost of signing up is €10 euro per household per year
The scheme works by sending out a text message when there are reports of crime or suspicious activity in the area crime and has been proven to help reduce the amount of break ins and burglaries.
An information and registration evening will be held tonight in the Thurles Sarsfields Centre.
