IFA launches Election Manifesto

The IFA is launching its manifesto ahead of the local and European elections – which it describes as the most important for agriculture in 35 years. 

Beef prices, CAP reform, food security and rural broadband are among the issues the farmers’ union says need to be addressed.

But IFA General Secretary Pat Smith says trade talks are one of the most pressing matters – and could flood the Irish market with cheap beef from South America.
