HSE reveals details of payments to Tipperary pharmacists, dentists and opticians

The HSE figures which outline payments made to pharmacists, dentists and opticians show the largest amount- of nearly €500,000 went to O'Reilly's Pharmacy LTD in Clonmel in 2014.

This data from the Irish Times online site focuses on the professional fees received by medical practitioners for dispensing drugs and medicines under various state schemes or operating state schemes.

Overall the largest payment of €800,000 went to a Dublin based pharmacy.

Here in Tipperary, 9 pharmacists, mainly based in South Tipp feature in the top 200. They include O'Reilly's LTD and James O'Sullivan- they both received in excess of €400,000. In North Tipperary, Nenagh Pharmacy Ltd and Ryan's Pharmacy in Thurles also received fees of over €400,000.

11 Tipperary dentists featured in the top 200 Dental payments category. They included Jerome Kiely and Daniel O' Connell both with practices in South Tipperary – who received over €267,000 and €257,000 respectively.

Rory Linehan in the HSE West- North Tipperary/ East Limerick region was also paid almost a quarter of a euro in fees in 2014.

The HSE released date also contains the top 200 Optical payments and 10 Tipp based opticians feature here.

They include Specsavers – North and South- which got a combined total of over €270,000 and Jennings Opticians on Liberty Square in Thurles which received €81,766 in state fees in 2014.
