Cahir apartment plans rejected

Planning permission has been refused for an apartment complex in Cahir.

The application from Dan Casey Builder Ltd was for Abbey Street in the town across from the Aldi store.

The proposals were to demolish an existing building which would be replaced with twelve apartments.

Among the reasons Tipperary County Council gave for refusing permission was that the development would distract from the visual amenity of the area and also did not meet sustainable housing design standards.
