The county council has identified consultants to remove and dispose of the waste from the Shannon Vermi-composting site near Rathcabbin.
The operation at Coolross was only meant to deal with compostable waste – but High Court injunctions were secured against the operators amid concerns over the operation and a foul odour it was creating.
