South Tipp General visitor ban continues

Visiting restrictions remain in place at South Tipp General Hospital this weekend as efforts continue to halt the spread of the flu.

The Hospital made the decision on Thursday to effectively close its doors to visitors following a week of unprecedented over crowding brought on by the rampant spread of the virus.

Visiting to all wards at the hospital is prohibited, apart from exceptional circumstances, which includes critical care patients while maternity & gynae visiting is restricted to partners or a designated person only.

Parents and guardians will only be permitted to the Children’s Ward.

Tipperary GP Pat Harold says it’s imperative that people do all they can to stop the spread of the virus.
