There’s severe overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick again this afternoon with 75 patients on trolleys.

That figure makes up almost one third of the national total of 243, and is 45 higher than the next highest total at Cork University Hospital.

INMO figures show that UHL, which serves north Tipperary, has 52 patients on trolleys in its emergency department and 23 in wards.

There are no patients on trolleys at South Tipp General or Nenagh General Hospitals today.
