412 patients on hospital trolleys

Hospitals serving Tipperary are once again among the busiest in the country today.

University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The Dooradoyle facility – which caters for North Tipperary – has 42 patients without a bed.

South Tipp General in Clonmel has 26 people being cared for on trolleys around the Emergency Department or in overflow areas of wards.

Cork University Hospital has 35 patients in need of a bed while there are 31 at University Hospital Waterford.
