Technology is being developed so they can detect the hand signals of cyclists, and they're learning to predict their movements and give bikes more space to manoeuvre.
The software can also recognise thousands of different bikes, including tandems and unicycles.
In a statement, Google says their cars recognise that cyclists are unique users of the road, and the vehicles are being trained to drive conservatively and give buffer room around cyclists.
