Gardaí warn drivers not to drink before getting behind the wheel

Tipperary motorists who get behind the wheel after having a drink this Christmas could find themselves in a garda cell.

Extra checkpoint are being set up by officers across the Premier over the coming week to clamp down on a serious of offences including speed, non wearing of seatbelts and drink and drug driving.

Over a dozen people won't be going home to loved ones for the festive season this year after losing their life in road crashes across Tipperary.
