The man, who's described as a 23 year-old African-American, was approached by officers in St Louis after they received reports of someone at a convenience store 'acting erratically' with a knife.
There have been violent protests in nearby Ferguson where Michael Brown was killed two weekends ago – prompting the National Guard to be sent in.
