Further developments in Aer Lingus sale

A veto on the sale of Aer Lingus slots at Heathrow airport could be extended to business groups in Shannon, Cork and Dublin.

Newspaper reports today claim their Chambers of Commerce would join with the government in having a say in their future use.

It's part of IAG's bid to make their proposed offer more attractive.

A review group set up by the Department of Transport will meet representatives from IAG tomorrow or Thursday.

This morning will see interested parties from the business, tourism and hospitality sectors discuss the proposed deal at a hearing of the Oireachtas Transport Committee.

Committee Chairman John O'Mahony expects recommendations will be drawn up when everyone has had their say.
