51 year old Andrew O'Donoghue was targeted outside a motorbike club in Murroe village on Saturday afternoon.
Three men – two in their 40s and one in his 20s – were arrested at the weekend.
A fourth man, in his late 40s, was detained in Limerick city this morning.
He's being held at Henry Street Garda Station.
