The funding will be used to assist boat launching for the newly formed rowing club in the town – it's expected that work will begin next month.
The improvements follow the completion of the southern slip on the weir in Cahir earlier this year.
Local Independent Councillor Andy Moloney has welcomed the news and hopes that it will help improve the town's reputation as a hub for water activities.
