FOI access to Irish Water moves closer

Public access to Irish Water data has moved a step closer.

The Dáil has passed a motion that will extend Freedom of Information requests to include the public utility.

It'll be applied retrospectively to the company's set up date.

It’s now up to Public Expenditure Minister Brendan Howlin to decide exactly when Irish Water will start taking FOI requests, but it won't be the usual six months:
