Father of Disabled Toddler Says Hospital Apology is Meaningless

Ruary Martin was speaking outside the High Court today after it approved a €1.9m settlement for his three-year-old girl Milagros who was born in December 2011 at our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

A statement was read out on behalf of hospital staff, apologised sincerely and unambiguously to the Martin family for the deficits of care relating to her birth.

Judge Kevin Cross approved a 1.9 million euro initial payment for the ongoing care of the 3 year old, who has cerebral palsy.
