New fire appliance for Tipperary

Fire services in Tipperary are to benefit from a new investment by the Government.

Local Government Minister Eoghan Murphy has announced details of the Fire Services Appliance Capital Programme for 2018 to 2020.

In all 23 new units will be allocated to stations across the country.

One of these will be based at Clonmel fire station where it will replace one of the older units currently in use.

The existing appliance will be used in the training centre on the Heywood Road.

On average the fire service in Tipperary attends over 1500 incidents per year.
