The single vehicle collision happened in the Silvermines area at around 3 o'clock this afternoon.
The female driver, who was the only occupant, died after her car hit a wall at Ballintogher.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been removed to Limerick University Hospital for a post-mortem.
The road has been closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Examination and local diversions are in place.
