Students at LIT campuses in Tipperary say they are finding it impossible to find accommodation.
The local Students Union is appealing for locals in Clonmel and Thurles who might be able to rent out a spare room to get in touch with them.
Homeowners can earn up to €14,000 a year tax-free.
