Clonmel in the driving seat for Urban Regeneration funding

The town is set to apply for its share of a €2 billion urban regeneration fund under the Ireland 2040 plan.

It’s the only town in Tipperary that can do so – as it’s the only one in the county with a population of more than 10,000.

The fund aims for more coordinated planning for future generations by re-imagining the poorly utilised areas in the centres of cities and larger towns.

Councillor Michael Murphy says Clonmel is at an advantage because it has a number of large scale projects in the pipeline.
