Drumm’s bail hearing set for Friday

The former chief executive of Anglo Irish bank is in custody in Boston as authorities try to bring him home to face charges over the collapsed bank.

Yesterday Mr Drumm's lawyers questioned whether attempts to extradite him from the US are being done for a 'political purpose'.

They also claimed the case was complicated and have asked for up to four months to prepare for his hearing.

He will apply for bail the day after tomorrow and in November a status conference will give David Drumm the chance to explain to the court why he shouldn't be extradited.
