This year that has fallen to just over €700,000.
The figures were supplied to Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath following a Parliamentary Question – they show that nationally grant payments to Group Water Schemes and Private Well owners fell by almost €50 million.
The independent TD says this simply isn't good enough and the issue of funding needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
