Criticism of hike in TV package prices.

 

The Consumers Association of Ireland is hitting out at TV service providers who are planning to increase their prices.

UPC has reportedly notified more than half a million customers that they'll have to pay up to 14 per cent more for their packages from March.

The company's blaming the rising cost of programming and operations.

Sky's basic TV package is set to rise by one euro a month from the first of February.

The CAI is urging consumers to shop around and consider the free TV services on the market.
