32 year old Addey Ahearne of 37 Heywood Road, Clonmel and Danny Wyatt – whose address was given as 15 Oakland Drive, Clonmel were brought before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court yesterday.
Gardai gave evidence of arresting the pair following an incident in the Heywood Close area of the town on Sunday evening during which a woman was allegedly assaulted.
The court was told that she remains in hospital after sustaining what have been described as life changing injuries.
Addey Ahearne is charged with criminal damage to a vehicle and possession of a weapon –namely a golf club – in a public place.
Danny Wyatt – who is 22 – is facing charges of obstructing Gardaí while carrying out their duties.
Gardai objected to bail being granted and Judge Miriam Walsh remanded the pair in custody to appear in court again in a week’s time.
