A 21 year old man has been shot in the legs on the outskirts of Tullamore.
It happened in a field off Clara Road just before 10pm.
He was taken to Tullamore Hospital – his injuries are not life threatening.
It’s understood a shot was fired from some distance.
A second man in his 20s who was there at the time wasn’t injured.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses and an incident room has been set up at Tullamore Garda Station.
